About Us

The Pitchpipers started in Havant, Hampshire in 1976 with a few singers in the front room of our founder member, Marilyn Penketh. Since that time the chorus has gone from strength to strength within the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) under the leadership of Marilyn Penketh, Karen Palmer (nee Penketh) and John Palmer (Karen’s husband).

Our chorus has a great bunch of active members - and there's always room for more! As well as singing with the full chorus, we are proud to have several excellent quartets among us.

We have a sister chorus in Sonsbeck, Germany called Barbershop Blend and have links with the Southern Comfort Barber Gals in Holland.
